Your numbers on EB India visas are fairly close to accurate. 2008 will be very skewed in EB India's direction. It is just that the demand is even more greater than that.

On your point about the data not backing up people returning, that issue is multi-dimentional. There is no precedent for this in EB immigration, even pre-Ac21 the retrogression was not as severe. When was the last time EB2 had sustained retrogression over 5 yrs for that long? EB3 for 8 yrs sustained? Additionally those factors I mentioned are real, US citizen kids, eligibility for benefits base on accumulated SS credits etc. The US will eventually have to come to terms with those issues as will the immigrants.
Also newer immigrants will have reason for pause in their decisions. Some(the best ones) may not come, others that come will repatriate their savings, will not buy homes, etc. All of that represents behavior that would not be in the US interest. Of course I am not sure US lawmakers think that deep, but just saying.

i was not able to attend the IV rally..emergency reasons..but still its fair for me to suffer..
its highly unlikely we can see a reform. I agree with logiclife's post..we deserve what we are getting into..
of the 800K applications u saw applying for AOS..even if 10K had come to DC rally it'd made a huge diff..
we all do line up for GCs like herds but dont have the guts to attend..
i know of so many ppl who say "all this rally is ridiculous".. and i dont pity them those who wait for 10 years..becoz u deserve to suffer and will continually suffer..

Whole process took around 2 weeks.

Thank you Aman & all the other immigration voice members who have spent so much time, energy and resources in advocating on behalf of all of us. I have been working in the non-profit sector for the past 8 years and from experience suggest that in order for this movement/advocacy campaign to sustain it is important for us to have a system in place where core campaign members are reimbursed for their past and recurring expenses. We have contributed to IV previously and would like to pledge $200 towards Aman's expenses.

Just to remind ourself who we are. We are Highly skilled LEGAL immigrants. It not only means we are skillful but it also means we pay every damn tax which is out there. We pay for welfare. We pay for unemployed. We pay for pensioners. List goes on. We pay fees for every application processed by USCIS ( Labor, I-140,I-485,I-765,I-131 etc etc ). We pay rent. We buy cars. We buy houses. In short, we are nothing but GOLD to this economy.
However, this one department called USCIS is literally toying with us for yrs now as if we are slaves or we are obligated to them. We dont want anyone to do us any favour. We need justice.
Friends - I have self respect and i wasn't born chanting Green Card. I AM going to face them, confront them, demand them to provide justice, if not I want them to REFUND every penny i have paid so far. If this "I AM" becomes "WE", half the battle won. TOGETHER WE STAND, VICTORY/JUSTICE FOR ALL. If you are still hesitant, you made a bad choice of choosing option 2. Please go back to option 1.

non retrogressed countries: The delay will be none (normally) / fewmonths (worst case ) as both their eb and fb volumes are minimal.
Let us not forget we are talking about FB2A cat, with large quota of 114,200. plus it gets unused FB1.
Plus it is fair to interpret the law as it is.

I am a new member joining the IV team.

I am EB3, and i know we EB3 are screwed , and EB2 are luckier than us.
There is no need to fight,
If we dont get the GC , we can go back home(for me home is india) .... believe me home is not so bad( even after the blasts) Just enjoy your time here, live for the moment.
I work for an employer , whom i value more than EB2 , so i dont want to port to EB2(Even when i filed for EB3 , i was eligible for EB2 , But my lawyers assistant , just wanted to play safe) Everyone has his own preferences.
I think this is a post , for the EB3 to crib , and talk (humans feel good after doing that) so let us do that.

My guess is Eb3 India will not be current this year. From other Law firm site I observe that we will see mini version of what happend last year so I guess Eb2 I will be current .. ( Not because I am Eb2 ( I ) ) . Eb3 ROW will be C guys soon..

This is great but not at all enough, If major news and print media does not cover this, than this effort will go waste. If it gets unreported, than we have ourselves to blame. The whole point is for this to get covered nationally. Your local news and print media needs to be made aware, if it gets printed enough times, it will be picked up in major news channels. So please email the story, make the reporters aware of this. I know, we have a lot of us that we can write, copy paste the same message. I have a feeling it is going to make a great news story, just want to be doubly sure.

This argument applies to EB3 and EB1 also. Also, we already crossed that line of proving that no other qualified is available. Even EB3 does the same. So, you are asking to audit everybody?
You agree it or not, from USCIS/Congress point of view,
Order of preference is, EB1 -> EB2 -> EB3.
If you are eligible for EB1/EB2, go for it. Nobody is stopping you.
If we were to buy this weak attempt at making a 'logical point', I would be glad to give Ron a call and have his folks look into YOUR respective EB2 applications and find out if there REALLY was "NO" qualified US worker available for that job. Want to play that game?

I am just trying to see if NSC could go past the I-485 received on 06/01/2007. Many folks whose application was received the first day got receipt and receipt#. Is there anyone who applied later and got the receipt or receipt#.
we ( 5+6 dependents) applied on 5/31. Reached NSC on 6/1 but not yet received our notices.Hoping we will get them this week.
